Bushfire Danger Period

The NSW Rural Fire Service urges all residents to prepare for the bushfire danger period which comes into effect in the Lake George Zone (Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council Local Government Area) of the NSW Rural Fire Service fire district from 1 October 2017 through 31 March 2018.

During this Bushfire Danger Period, specific rules apply that MUST be followed and burning in the open is NOT allowed without a permit. Heavy penalties can apply for people who light fires without a permit.
